Believe in yourself. (Ang cliche, I know). I was watching this video in KMJS, (Pasensya na, hobby ko ang manood ng videos ni KMJS and bilangin kung ilang ‘di umano’ na ang sinabi ni Jessica Soho) I saw the video of a guy who became a millionaire, dati lang siyang janitor or something, basta it was a blue collar job. Anyway, the ending of the story is that he is the owner of Foss Coffee. He only started at P15K so I was like I think I can do it too. I approached my friend to come up with a business pero he came up with really expensive and big business stating that he would take care of everything and I can still continue with my job. P1M was what he needed. He is someone that I really trust, I care for and I believed in but I was like, P1M… I was only thinking of P15K business na pwedeng palakihin ng ganon. He sort of talked me into borrowing that kind of money habang siya ang nakikipag-usap sa lahat ng tao. He was thinking pwesto sa market, bigasan and eventually gym na readyng ready ng bilhin, ung Steps sa Batangas. I talked to the owners, I already gave my yes. I was willing to give P50K in cash but I just cannot give a reassurance of the P1M by end of January kasi pending pa nga ung loan ko. The P1M option was actually a second option. Before I gave them my yes, it was a different payment option that was more realistic for me. Anyway, when I told this guy friend of mine, he became so angry and he did not want to talk to me. Kesyo siya pa daw ang napahiya, etc etc. I was blinded by my emotions but now that I am logical, I want to share with you the things that I learned from this scenario.
If the person that you trust so much ask you for so much money and their only reassurance is their ID’s and assurance that they would work hard with you but will not shell out money on a supposed business partnership, that is a red flag.
If the person shows how hard he works and how he is the dejado in the situation because he is the brute of the operation, try to challenge him or look in the situation how he can also lie to you when it comes to sales and profit of the business since he will be doing all the manpower and you will just be visiting once in a while. At first, I thought I would not be working and just earning until somebody made me realize how this guy, no matter how trustworthy it seems, can make it look in the report as if the gym was not earning and then tell me like that and I will just end up paying for my loans and he can have all the money that he want especially Steps was a known gym in Batangas. I would not have any basis to dispute because I do not have any documents and reports, he will be holding it.
If the person reacts like a spoiled brat and stopped going to work (as he claims) because he no longer will be buying the gym because he was the one who is embarrassed, that is another red flag. At first, he was hired as an employee and not as a business partner. I was like, why would he be the one who is embarrassed if he is not the one who gave the yes and he is not exactly the one buying the business. If we are even going to define his role in this transaction, he is just a middle man who is an employee and is now refusing to come to work because I am not buying the gym. Nakakaloka talaga si Kuya sa pagkauser. The following week, he was about to work in BGC which I am just confused again because he wanted to work sa Steps yet he always have this pending application in BGC. I think my not buying the gym was just used as an excuse so that he can leave working the gym because of the pressure from his family. I really don’t know but now that I am no longer trusting and caring for this person, I can see right through him. He is a lazy person who would use trusting people like me.
I still believe in myself that I will be successful whichever business I decide to embark on. Right now, may not be the right time for me but I know that I will succeed. I just need to get my ducks in a row and eventually, I will have that business that is meant for me.
