This is one of my ‘best self’. I just felt so confident and happy when the photo was taken. I believe this picture was taken in June 2017, the year that I turned 30. If you were checking out my previous post, you would know that being 30 was really milestone for me that I thought of changing and upgrading my wardrobe to look more chic, practical and still original. From the post, I featured the Memorandum blog of Mary Orton and how she has become an inspiration. I have learned to acknowledge that a business jacket is a need for young professionals. You can have the title and the skills but at the same time, if you are not well put-together, people might still view you differently. While I was shopping, I learned that another reason why I really do not have a lot of business jackets even though I have been working for almost a decade is because, damn, they cost a lot and I was even looking at the most affordable ones.
I did not like how some business coats looked so mature… I mean, for me, if I would be wearing it, I would look like 5 years older than I actually am. I was careful in choosing the business jacket. I was thinking of the price, quality, style and how it would suit my wardrobe. After 15 minutes of staring at the rack of business coats, doing some math, imagining of what I could possibly wear with them, I had 2 choices, a blue jacket that is loose and a white one that is slim fit, both looked good on me when I tried them on but then I felt that the blue piece is more practical compared to the white one and the blue one was cheaper somewhat.
Here’s the finished ensemble. People really love the whole outfit. They liked the white blouse that I pair with the blue jacket, they also love the slim fit slacks that I wore but the most memorable part of the outfit is the shoes. I got so many questions on where I purchased it, how much it was or if it was expensive, things like that. As what I always say, I am all for getting the quality and practicality. This piece just gives that. It was also comfortable enough, I did not feel so conscious and I feel that I was able to get that chic, practical and yet original vibe. What do you think of my outfit?
